I was born in Buffalo, NY, and have lived in Grand Island, NY, for the majority of my life. I am fortunate to have an incredible family who made it a point to instill the values of working hard and taking pride in what you do for yourself, your family, and for anyone you come across. From volunteering to clean up Western New York to working in disaster areas such as the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to help victims, I have been able to see the true impact my parents made by helping others in addition to working full-time and raising a family. I’m happy to give back in any way possible and am grateful to my entire family for showing me what our purpose is.
After graduating from high school, I earned my bachelor’s degree in financial analysis from the University at Buffalo, thus beginning my financial education. Throughout college, I worked full-time in landscaping and snowplowing. Upon graduation, I accepted an offer from an international financial planning firm. After passing the FINRA Series 7 and 66 examinations, I began building my financial planning practice. I absorbed so much in such a short amount of time and loved every minute of it. Having the ability to directly impact the lives of my clients and my family comes directly from the gratitude and pride that was shown to me through volunteering. During my time at that firm, I was able to learn firsthand the value and responsibility a financial planner holds in respect to his clients.
I was introduced to David Burgio during this time, and he quickly became a mentor to a more holistic style of planning and helping clients. During this time, I earned my IRS Enrolled Agent designation, allowing me to prepare taxes and understand the importance of having a financial planner who understands the significance of coordination between investments, taxes, and understanding a client’s situation beyond their financial picture. I was offered a position by Dave that allowed me to take a step back from running my practice and put me in a position to learn from a true financial planner who cares about his clients the way he cares about his own family.
I am currently growing my own practice and am fortunate to do so with the support of Dave’s expertise, as well as the knowledge and support provided by our partnership with Commonwealth. I am beyond grateful for the support I receive from my family, my beautiful girlfriend Erica, our dogs Spot and Sunny, and Dave and our team. To be able to help people retire confidently and securely has been the most satisfying part of my career. In a time where the world feels full of uncertainty, I am thankful to be able to serve and guide folks through the significant decisions and life changes that we all face.
